Some Contractors had lady luck on their sides, letting them have a taste of what’s to come. Others aren’t so lucky at all - but time draws near for the shifting of the balance. The first-ever season of Contractors Showdown comes!

In this sitrep, we’ll be talking about the hottest new features to come on Contractors

Showdown Season 1. The Ark Pit, Resurgence Mode, the vehicles, melee, a new LMG, never-before-seen explosives, new areas both on the map and at HQ, a weather system, the compass, and the drone.

Yes, this sitrep carries it all. We’re ready. Are you Ready? Let’s get onto it!

What’s Coming on Season 1

Now, for the part that you’re all waiting for - what exactly is coming to Season 1? If you’re a good Contractor, you may have already sensed the seismic shift that’ll occur once the season starts.

Get ready as we’re about to blow your minds and further exceed the expectations on our beloved VR Battle Royale!

The Ark Pit: Failure is not Final

There’s no room for 2nd chances - at least there WASN’T. This Season 1, ARK Industry unveiled a new method for Contractors to attain victory - one way or another.

Worried that you might not make it ‘til the end of the showdown? When defeated in battle on the island, you’ll be <REDACTED> into the ARK PIT.

Little is known whether the ARK PIT is a prison or a camp - but it damn well looks like an arena for modern gladiators. Contractors are expected to fight to the death as they challenge one another for another shot at victory back on the island.

While the ARK PIT introduces a new path to victory even for those who have fallen, a new mode has risen to challenge the Contractors out of hiding and to never bring their guard down…

Reborn Mode

What is the REBORN mode?

All about mayhem and endless combat...

Hate to be a one-hitter-quitter?

Now you'll survive even if there's only 1 member left in the team!

There's NO death limit...

But don't get cocky, your revival time will increase with each redeployment to the battlefield!

The ATV and SUV: The Wheels Are In Motion!

Much has been said about the ATV and the SUV on The Pre-Season Sitrep, but we want to reiterate what it really means for all Contractors on a Showdown - it will be an absolute game changer.

Newly-found speed and protection are offered by the vehicles, in addition to a new way to traverse the map either for resources or just to secure yourself and your teammates in the blue zone.

Plus, there’s more to the SUV and ATV than meets the eye. The recent playtests have proven that there’s more to just the SUV and ATV being vehicles as they are - they’re also meant to be used to gain advantage one way or another. Blocking doorways, ramming down opponents, positioning for cover fire, going over walls, using its sound as a bait, mowing down unsuspecting enemies in a drive-by - these have all shown to be effective methods to gaining the upper hand - no matter what.

We’ve talked enough about the vehicles - now it’s time for the big guns - starting with what people are saying is the biggest addition of ‘em all…

The Combat Knife: When it all comes down to the blade

Every contractors knows that they simply couldn’t 100% rely on their firearms - sometimes, the basics make a whole lot of difference in a firefight.

Introducing - The Combat Knife. Capable of damaging foes without making a mess, the combat knife’s blade are neatly sharpened, enough to cut into flesh easily like butter.

Mind you - this isn’t some run-on-the-mill knife - it’s also throwable. The most skilled Contractors know how to use it even at longer ranges. The sky’s the limit - and when you’re out of bullets - remember that there will always be situations wherein it all comes down to the blade.

With the basics come the literal big guns - we’re bringing in more than just a gun this time - it’s something made for hunters or survivors, or a certain long-haired muscled individual…

The Compound Bow: Rambo Mode

Yes. A Compound Bow. Quite literally a bow that shoots arrows.

The Compound Bow exists not just for the risk-takers, but also for the silent types who’d rather not tell enemies where they’re shooting from.

Made especially to shoot arrows more than anything, the Compound Bow works just like it’s expected - but take note that you’re not Legolas - your quiver is down there with your mags and ammo, not your back.

You can pick up the Compound Bow on the battlefield, or buy yourself one on a vending machine. Just be warned - it works differently than a normal gun - and may require more skill for the damage it inflicts.

While Rambo loves his compound bow, there’s another addition that’ll soon be another hit - or more likely a hundred hits to Contractors…

The PKP: Rat-at-at-at-at-tah and so on!

The PKP - or for the comrades out there - the Pecheneg - comes in hot on Contractors Showdown Season 1. No longer you’ll have to worry about the amount of bullets you need to mow down enemies in a single clip - the PKP boasts an enormous 100-round belt-fed magazine capable of dealing massive damage to whoever, or whatever gets in its way.

Just remember - the PKP is a heavy machine gun. It’s not your ordinary stock-to-the-shoulder rifle, it’s a machine gun meant to be fired from the hip without worrying much about accuracy. Talk about volume vs. precision.

When the PKP goes “Rat-at-at-at-tah”, there’s bound to be something that’ll cause more like a “Ka-boom” than any other. Since vehicles are on the move, somehow, these are now here…

The C4: Explosive Game Changers

There’s a new explosive on the road - and quite literally, might be on the road somewhere on the map - the C4 packs an explosive punch with the timing meant to satisfy every Contractor.

With a remote-controlled detonator to provide ease of detonation from a distance - the C4 acts like a trap more than a bomb. Used in scenarios more than just setting traps against vehicles, it can bring an enormous advantage to those lucky enough to procure it in the field.

With these new weapons and explosives coming into play, the need for more space and variation increases. Say “Hello!” to the new arrivals on the map…

New Areas: New Town, Airport, and HQ Renovations!

With vehicles now arriving to the island, comes renovations and even new areas on the map and the headquarters.

There was once an Old Town, but now there’s a New Town to discover. There’s also the newly-built Airport with open hangars and runways.

Our HQ architects, engineers and technicians have also built a bigger base for us - now encompassing more than just one strut on the sea. Now, you can master your driving skills on the all-new circuit loop meant for those who get their blood boiling on racing adrenaline.

Access to new areas both on the island and the headquarters have brought in a new kind of challenge to all Contractors. We all know the showdown doesn’t choose anything and it always happens - rain, or shine…

New Weather System: Sunset, Rainy and Foggy

Contractors know when to strap their boots tighter and jam their heels deeper in the soil depending on the weather. Now, the time has come to test it all out on the battlefield.

The Weather System comes to all matches on Contractors Showdown Season 1. Battlefields now come with randomly picked weathers meant to challenge every Contractor out there.

The Sunset showers the island in the golden hour - with lush sceneries meant to capture the beauty of the structures - and of the bodies lying on the ground. Shadows play a different role in the sunset, so watch out for stealthy Contractors.

The Rainy Weather comes to warn us that the sun doesn’t always appear whenever we want it to. With literally nothing but water raining down from the sky, visibility can be a little bit tricky - so be sure to bring in your best eyewear to maintain line of sight of enemies during the downpour.

The Fog comes without warning - blocking the vision for most Contractors out there. During foggy weather, even the most skillful soldier may come out blind and unskilled on the battlefield. Be careful not to get disoriented, as the fog is known to claim those who end up becoming more frightened than the rest.

With a new weather system coming to bring out the turmoil into an already chaotic battlefield, there’s a saving grace - a new navigation system that embraces the old…

The Compass: Point towards Victory

Lo and Behold - one of the most-awaited features on Contractors Showdown - The Compass. Comes in different types to cater to all Contractors - it has one single objective - to provide directions to more than just one’s self.

Make callouts more than just natural ones - be more technical when directing commands like a true modern soldier. But beware - you’re not the only one with a compass out there.

The Compass brings in a new way to deal with current issues within the battlefield. Now, there’s a way to fly through the problems with ease…

The Drone: When you need some airtime!

Welcome to the future - Contractor. The Drone brings in mobility and visibility like never before. Using a remote controller, the drone is a quick medium-sized flying machine capable of lifting you further than what you imagined.

The Drone can be a solution to many problems - just as it’s capable of producing more problems for enemies. Keep in mind - you move at a straight vertical when you use the drone. Make sure you’re aware of the risks before lifting off!

The Drone brings in more than just a capable lifting buddy - it’s more of a friend for those who use it well - just like many of the features mentioned above. It’s good to remember that the additions are more or less capable of providing support to all Contractors vying to get that sweet, sweet victory.
